Chai Lifeline is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Weisbaum as director of its Southeast Region. Weisbaum, who previously served as the director of the Florida chapter of Yachad – The National Jewish Council for Disabilities and as managing director of Jerusalem U, brings a track record of proven success in the nonprofit world.
“We are delighted to have Matthew join the Chai Lifeline family,” said Rabbi Simcha Scholar, CEO of Chai Lifeline. “His professionalism, experience, and expertise will add a lot to the organization, our families, and the local community. I look forward to working closely with Matthew to continue strengthening and growing Chai Lifeline’s impact and presence in the Southeast region.”
“It is an honor and a privilege to be joining the Chai Lifeline team that does so much for children and families in difficult situations,” said Weisbaum. “I am eager to expand our reach across the Southeast and help even more people.
Weisbaum, of Boca Raton, succeeds Chai Lifeline Southeast’s Founding Director Ellen Weiss, who has retired after 32 years of service to the organization. He holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Florida and received rabbinic ordination from Aish HaTorah in Jerusalem, Israel.
A leading children’s health support network, Chai Lifeline provides critical assistance to children with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses and their families, through more than two-dozen, free year-round programs. Learn more at www.chailifeline.org.
