Chai Lifeline Brings Simcha to Communities Across the US This Summer

This summer, hundreds of children with serious illnesses will have the opportunity to experience the joy and camaraderie of summer camp through the Camp Simcha Without Borders initiative, now in its fourth year. Spearheaded by Chai Lifeline, this program allows the impactful experiences of the flagship Camp Simcha to be accessible to boys and girls right in their own communities.

“Children facing serious health challenges often miss out on normal childhood experiences. Camp Simcha Without Borders is designed to ensure that illness does not prevent any child from experiencing the magic of summer camp,” said Rabbi Simcha Scholar, CEO of Chai Lifeline. “Our initiative brings the excitement and joy of Camp Simcha to their hometowns, helping them feel included and supported.”

Generously sponsored by The Ann & David Kupperman Foundation, Camp Simcha Without Borders will operate in Chai Lifeline regions nationwide, including Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, Baltimore, Lakewood, and Deal. The sessions feature a range of activities tailored to the abilities of the participants, including arts and crafts, trips, sports, music, and entertainment, all designed to foster friendships, community, and strength. Each location will be supported by Chai Lifeline’s extensive network of volunteers and professional staff, ensuring personalized attention and care for each camper.

Eli Braun, director of Camp Simcha Without Borders, shared, “Bringing the incredible Simcha energy and inspiration to local communities profoundly impacts the children and their families. It’s more than just fun; it’s about building strength and connections.”
