It’s 5:00 p.m. and 14-year-old Lea is logging on to Zoom for that evening’s virtual Camp Simcha activity. On this particular evening, it’s a baking demonstration. Lea prepared the ingredients beforehand so that she could join along. “It’s the highlight of her day,” Lea’s mother shared. “She’s counting down to 5 o’clock from when she wakes up.”

Cleveland Indians all-star outfielder Yasiel Puig paid a surprise visit to Camp Simcha in Glen Spey, NY, on Monday, August 19. Puig signed autographs for the campers, danced with them, and led a baseball clinic. Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special are Chai Lifeline’s flagship summer programs for children with cancer and chronic illnesses.

The Tour de France may be making international headlines, but another cycling event took place much closer to home on Tuesday, July 16. One hundred and sixty women decked out in sporty black and bright pink uniforms took part in the annual Tour de Simcha, an all-female cycling event that raises funds benefitting Chai Lifeline, the international health network supporting children and families living with life-threatening and lifelong illnesses.

As the United States battles the worst measles outbreak in 25 years, Chai Lifeline has taken several steps to protect the health and safety of its clients and their families, employees, volunteers, and greater community. In consultation with its medical staff, Chai Lifeline has instituted guidelines and policies requiring documentation of MMR vaccinations for all employees, as well as their family members, and volunteers who interact with clients in any way—be it camp staff and visitors, transportation, or respite volunteers, etc. read full story
More than 500 former Camp Simcha campers, counselors and staff, along with their families, celebrated Alumni Day on Sunday, July 29 at Camp Simcha’s Glen Spey, New York campus. Participants enjoyed an array of interactive activities and programming with current campers and staff, as well as the opportunity to catch up with old friends and familiar faces.
