Ten years ago, Chai Lifeline created Achim B’Yachad, a separate division of Chai Lifeline to serve the Chassidic communities of Brooklyn and Rockland County. Today, Achim B’Yachad, though limited in geography, is the fastest-growing part of the organization.

It’s the Chai Birthday for the Hartman Family Foundation Wish at the Wall, Chai Lifeline’s celebration of life for teens who have either completed treatment for cancer or who are living with serious chronic illnesses or disabilities.

Three years ago, Chai Lifeline’s leadership undertook a major capital project: the renewal of Camp Simcha’s residential campus. Though daunting, the project was much needed. From the moment you wake up until the time you rest your head upon your pillow at night, your day is filled with the responsibilities of caring for your sick kid (or sick children!), and their brothers and sisters. Treatment, therapy, medical appointments, or school issues, not to mention the day to day necessities of taking care of a home and making a living. As you haul that last load of laundry up the stairs or fall into bed at night, you find yourself wondering, “When is it time for ME?”
