Journey of Resilience: Chai Lifeline Teens Head to Israel for Life-Changing Experience

This February, a group of teenagers living with serious illnesses and disabilities will embark on a life-changing journey to Israel as part of Chai Lifeline’s Hartman Family Foundation Wish at the Wall program. Scheduled for February 26 through March 9, the annual program celebrates life, resilience, and heritage, offering these remarkable young men and women, as well as their parents a unique opportunity to experience the beauty and spirituality of Israel while accommodating their every medical need.

Chai Lifeline Regional Directors Convene to Strengthen Global Impact

Chai Lifeline directors from across the United States and around the world convened in Eatontown, NJ, on January 27-28, 2025, for the organization’s Annual Regional Directors Conference. The two-day gathering brought together leaders from New York, New Jersey/Pennsylvania, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, and West Coast, as well as Toronto, Montreal, Israel, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, representing more than 6,000 families supported globally by Chai Lifeline.

From Camp Simcha Counselor to Community Leader: Reflections on The Lubeck Fellowship Experience

After working for the past three summers as a counselor at Camp Simcha Special, Chai Lifeline’s amazing summer program for children living with chronic illness and disabilities, I was inspired to find more ways to become involved in the world of Jewish nonprofit organizations, also known as “Klal work.” I was unsure of where to begin in going about this goal when I was told about Chai Lifeline’s Lubeck Fellowship in Jewish Nonprofit and Communal Leadership, run by Rabbi Ari Dembitzer, Head Counselor at Camp Simcha and Rabbi of Beth Israel Synagogue in Omaha, Nebraska.

This year’s gala theme, “Shining Together,” reflects Chai Lifeline’s mission to uplift and unite all those impacted by serious illness and crisis, from the sick child to every family member and the broader community, providing strength and hope in the face of unimaginable challenges.

Rav Dovid Beinish Feinstein, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva of Staten Island, paid a memorable visit to Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline’s medically supervised summer program for children with cancer and other serious illnesses in Glen Spey, NY, on July 29. The Rosh Yeshiva spent time engaging with the campers, offering them words of chizuk and bracha.
