On Thursday, October 4, Achim B’Yachad, a division of Chai Lifeline serving the Chassidic community, recognized over 400 volunteers at their annual Volunteer Appreciation event. This year, a barbeque was held in Boro Park, with catering by Oh! Vents. Guests were entertained by a stirring musical performance featuring Lipa Schmeltzer during the course of the three-hour gathering.
Chai Lifeline is the international children’s health support network which provides emotional, social, and financial support to over 5,500 children with life-threatening or lifelong illnesses and their families. Chai Lifeline CEO Rabbi Simcha Scholar said, “Chai Lifeline volunteers are our greatest asset. We owe them all a tremendous debt of gratitude. I was delighted to participate in this event, and personally meet and thank so many of our wonderful volunteers.”
Achim B’Yachad volunteers work in a variety of capacities across Chai Lifeline, including offering respite support for parents, visiting sick children in hospitals, and offering mentoring and homework assistance for patients’ siblings through Chai Lifeline’s i-Shine program.
