Chai Lifeline 2019-2020 Impact Report Showcases Dedicated Staff and Volunteers; Highlights Challenges and Opportunities
As Chai Lifeline’s recently published Impact Report shows, 2019 was a year of significant growth and accomplishment for the organization. Dedicated staff and volunteers across Chai Lifeline’s 12 regional and international offices provided more than two-dozen year-round programs and services to nearly 6,000 children and families living with pediatric illness or loss—all free of charge. When 2020 began, and along with it a global pandemic, Chai Lifeline pivoted. While unprecedented health and economic crises seemed to bring the world to a screeching halt, Chai Lifeline charged forward. Families battling pediatric illness, more vulnerable than ever before, needed Chai Lifeline’s support.
Case managers worked around the clock to coordinate care for our clients and provide them with counseling, emergency financial assistance, and various essential services. Dedicated volunteers assisted families with grocery and pharmacy shopping, transportation to medical appointments, delivered nourishing meals, and came up with innovative methods to virtually engage and entertain our kids. Project Chai, our crisis intervention team, conducted hundreds of crisis interventions and consultations, and led COVID-19 information sessions to tens of thousands of people, schools, shuls, and organizations worldwide. And more than 1,200 children around the world experience our magical summer program through our inaugural Camp Simcha Without Borders initiative.
In the report, you will meet a few of the incredible members of the Chai Lifeline team who work tirelessly and selflessly to improve the lives of children, families, and communities every single day.
